Polisiye dizilerin bir numaralı ismi Jerry Bruckheimer'ın prodüktörlüğünü üstlendiği Dark Blue, gizli bir polis ekibinin Los Angeles'ın en azılı suçlularıyla giriştikleri mücadeleleri konu alıyor.



Los Angeles Polis Departmanı’na bağlı olmasına rağmen yasal olarak var olmayan bir gizli polis ekibinin başında, hayatını karanlık işler çeviren derin suç örgütleriyle savaşmaya adamış olan Carter Shaw yer almaktadır. Üstlendikleri gizli görevlerde bazen aylarca farklı kimliklere bürünüp suçlularla yaşamak zorunda kalan ekip, iş bittikten sonra gerçek kimliklerine dönmekte zorluk yaşayabiliyor. Bu nedenle ekipte Ty Curtis dışında düzenli bir ilişki yaşayan yok. Her birinin karanlık geçmişlere sahip olması ise bir anlamda onların bu ekipte yer almalarının başlıca sebebi.
